La luce langue, Lady Macbeth's aria from Macbeth

La luce langue, il faro spegnesi	Light is languishing, the beacon that eternally
Ch’eterno corre per gli ampi cieli !	Moves in the vast heavens is dying away !
Notte desiata, provvida veli O desired night, you providentially veil
La man colpevole che ferirà. The guilty hand which is going to strike the blow.
Nuovo delitto!!... E’ necessario !!	New crime!!... It’s necessary !!
Compiersi debbe l’opra fatale. The fatal deed must be done.
Ai trapassati regnar non cale ;		The dead do not care to reign ;
A loro un requiem, l’eternità !..	Let them rest in eternal peace !
O voluttà del soglio ! Oh voluptuous pleasure of the throne !
O scettro, alfin sei mio ! Oh sceptre, finally you are mine !
Ogni mortal desio Every mortal desire
Tace e s’acqueta in te. Is silenced and assuaged by you.
Cadrà fra poco esanime He who was predicted king
Chi fu predetto re. Will soon fall lifeless.
